Pharmaceutics
This course primarily focuses on the formulation and evaluation of pharmaceutical dosage forms. To support hands-on learning, the department is equipped with essential and advanced facilities such as a ten-station Cadmach tablet compression machine, eight-station digital dissolution test apparatus, disintegration and friability test apparatus, tray dryer, orbital shaker incubator, stability chamber, double cone blender, bottle sealing and washing machines, R&D facilities, and a Brookfield viscometer.
Pharmaceutics is a core branch of pharmacy concerned with converting new chemical entities (NCEs) and existing drugs into safe, effective, and stable medicinal products. Often referred to as the science of dosage-form design, it addresses the challenges of delivering pharmacologically active substances in therapeutically effective concentrations. The discipline plays a vital role in linking drug formulation with its delivery, absorption, and behavior within the human body.
