Overview of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) program

Those who wish to work in the medical field may want to consider obtaining a Bachelor of
Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) degree. Professionals in the pharmaceutical industry have direct access to the distribution of pharmaceuticals. Among the services offered by the pharmacy industry are drug development, quality control testing, and lab regulation. Pharmacy studies primarily focus on medication research, design, and development, as well as patient safety. The four core subjects of pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, and pharmacognosy were the basic building blocks of the B. Pharm. program.

Duration of the Program:

Eight semesters make up the four academic years required to earn a bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
Students with lateral entry finish six semesters in three academic years. Periodically, the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi, will prescribe the program’s curricula and syllabus
Additionally, there will be five hundred hours of hands-on instruction over a minimum of
three months.

Medium of instruction and examinations:
Medium of instruction and examination shall be in English.
First Year B. Pharm.
  1. Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates
    1. The candidate should be an Indian National;
    2. Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics or Biology and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the above subjects taken together;
    3. The candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in MHT-CET  and obtain non zero score in MHT-CET
  2. All India Candidature Candidates. –
    1. The candidate should be an Indian National;
    2. Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics or Biology and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the above subjects taken together;
    3. Should obtain non zero positive score in NEET or the candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in MHT-CET 2022and obtain non zero score in MHT-CET . However, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in NEET over the candidates who obtained non zero score in MHT-CET .
  3. NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National
    1. The candidate should have passed the HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics or Biology, and obtained at least 45 % marks in the above subjects taken together;
    2. Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act.

For Unaided Minority Institutes: As per the policy of the State Government 51% of the sanctioned intake seats shall be filled by minority students from within the State, belonging to the linguistic minority – Gujrathi, based on inter-se merit in Centralized Admission Process Round-I (CAP -I).

Direct Second Year to B. Pharm. course (Lateral Entry)

For Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate and All India Candidature Candidate
i. The candidate should be an Indian National;
ii. Passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy with at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks in
case of candidates of Backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section and
Persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) from an All India
Council for Technical Education or Pharmacy Council of India or Central or State
Government approved Institution or its equivalent.

iii. Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined
under the Act.

Method of Selection

In order to gain admission to professional courses for which the State CET or another entrance exam is necessary for the academic year, the Competent Authority will encourage candidates to apply online to participate in CET and/or CAP. In order for qualified applicants to participate in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) and seek admission to undergraduate technical courses that are exempt from CET under the Act’s provisions, the Competent Authority will ask them to apply online using the approved form.

In accordance with the Central Act's provisions, rules, and regulations, the Competent Authority will invite qualified candidates to apply online for admission to professional courses through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) to undergrad technical programs for which the relevant authority administers the entrance exam under any Central Act.

Fee Structure

As per Fee Regulating Authority Approval, annual fees for academic year 2025-26 is 98500/-

Fee concession

Fee concession will be applicable for SC/ST/NT/SBC/OBC/EBC/TFWS category as per the rules mentioned in the DTE admission information brochure for the candidates who are admitted through CAP rounds only and not applicable for the candidates who are admitted in Non-CAP round at institute level.

Important instructions:

  1. Board Eligibility Fee/Exam Fee/ Enrollment Fee etc. will be charged later as determined by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai.
  2. In order to get the scholarship through the government, it will be the responsibility of the students to fill out and submit all the related documents on the website of the government department within the time specified by the college. Without it, the student will not be eligible for the government scholarship.
  3. The said scholarship will be applicable as per the government decision published by the Maharashtra government from time to time.
  4. If the student is non-eligible for the above scholarship provided by the government, the said student will have to pay the entire college fee

The program’s duration:

The two-year program for a master's degree in pharmacy is broken up into four semesters.
The curricula and syllabi for the program shall be prescribed from time to time by KBCNMU Jalgaon.(MS)
and or Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

Eligibility

First Year M. Pharmacy ( M. Pharm)

1. For Maharashtra Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates
i. The candidate should be an Indian National;
ii. Passed Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from any All India Council for Technical Education
or Pharmacy Council of India or Central or State Government approved institution, with at
least 55% marks (at least 50% marks in case of Backward Class category, Economically
weaker section and Persons with Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
iii. Obtained non-zero positive score in Graduates Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) conducted
by National Testing Agency;
iv. For sponsored candidates, minimum of two years of fulltime work experience in a registered
firm/ company/industry/ educational and/ or research institute/any Government Department
or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being
sought.

Selection Procedure

1. M. Pharm Admission process for Government quota seats will be carried out as per the schedule
declared by the Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai (Maharashtra State) from time to time.
Students are also advised to see the website of State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State
i.e., https://cetcell.mahacet.org/
2. The Unaided Private Professional Educational Institution shall admit Candidates through the
Centralised Admission Process (CAP) as referred in sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Act. hence
students interested to seek admission for M. Pharm are advised to see website https://mpharm
.mahacet.org.in/
3. The Information Brochure shall be published on the website of the Competent Authority. The
candidate should read the information brochure carefully.
4. The candidate should fill the Online Application Form as per the notified schedule for respective
admission. Application fees must be paid by the candidate through online mode only.
5. The Candidates will also be able to fill in Online Application Form and upload the scanned copies of
the required documents through any computer connected to internet from home or any other place or
through Facilitation Canters.
6. Candidates are required to fill in all the details as per the instructions and Upload scanned images of
valid necessary original documents as per the requirement of the admission while filling online
application form.
7. After filling the information and submission of Application Form, the Candidates shall verify the
data filled and correct it if required. The candidate shall take printout of the form and sign it.
8. The Printed copy of Application form shall have list of documents required to be produced by the
candidate for substantiating his claim made in the application form. The candidate shall carry a set of
Xerox copies of the required documents.
9. Document Verification will be done at Facilitation Centre and application will get confirmed.
10. Display or Publishing of Provisional merit list, Submission of grievances, if any, through the method
prescribed by the Competent Authority for this purpose and Display or Publishing of Final Merit
Lists
11. Display of Category Wise Seats (Seat Matrix) available for respective CAP Rounds. The Competent
Authority shall publish the information about institutes, courses offered, Sanctioned intake and
number of seats available for each category before each round.
12. Filling up and Confirmation of Online Option Form having preferences of Courses and Institutions
prior to respective CAP Rounds – Candidates may fill in minimum 1 and maximum 300 choices of
Institutes and Courses in decreasing order of their preference. The Option Form once confirmed by
the Candidate through their login shall be considered for allotment in the respective CAP Rounds.
13. Display of Provisional Allotment of respective CAP Round indicating allotted institute and Course.
14. Reporting and accepting the offered seat at Admission Reporting Centre by the Candidate as per the
schedule declared by the Competent Authority through the method prescribed by the Competent
Authority for the purpose of accepting the offered seat and rectifying the errors as per the clause (e)
of sub-rule (4) of this rule.;
15. Only after reporting to ARC, the candidate should report to the allotted institute for seeking
admission on the allotted seat as per final allotment in CAP rounds;
16. The time schedule prescribed by the competent authority for compliances for various stages of CAP
is mandatory.
17. The detailed admission process for Institute / Minority candidates will be notified on announcement
from the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State. All the relevant details for admission
for Institute / Minority candidates will be displayed on college notice board and on college website
from time to time.
18. The principal of this institute will invite applications for the Institute / Minority seats available by
giving publicity in the leading newspapers.
19. Aspiring candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria given above should apply directly to the
Principal. Such seats will be filled by institute strictly on merit basis at institute level.

20. Admission process for the seats remaining vacant after CAP round and Institute / Minority quota
round will be carried out separately. Schedule will be displayed on the Notice board as well on the
web site of the institute. All such seats will be filled by institute strictly on merit basis at institute
level.

Cancellation
Rules for cancellation of Admission

1. Application for the cancellation of admission (institute / hostel) will be considered if and only if the
candidate has taken admission (institute / hostel) by paying full fees and has submitted all required
documents / certificates / undertaking / affidavit in originals at the time of admission.
2. The rules regarding cancellation of admission and refund of fees shall be as described in Information
brochure by DTE, Mumbai for particular admission year.
3. The candidate is required to apply in the prescribed proforma as given in DTE, Mumbai brochure. If
the cancellation is done after cut-off date, the student shall pay full course fee.

Eligibility for D. Pharm. Admission

For the admission to first year/semester of the diploma course in pharmacy, the candidate should have passed the higher secondary certificate (HSC). Examination of Maharashtra State board of Secondary and higher secondary education or any other examination declared by the said board to be equivalent there to, with and in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics and English.
