About Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm.)

A postgraduate program intended to build advanced knowledge and skills in pharmacy. Programs allow specialization in Pharmaceutics, Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Regulatory Affairs. The curriculum emphasizes clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical chemistry, and pharmacology. Training occurs in GMP and GLP compliant settings with practical instruction in formulation, synthesis, analysis, regulation, and quality functions. 

Why select an M. Pharm.

After an M. Pharm., graduates can pursue research, industry roles in marketing, manufacturing, clinical research, quality assurance, quality control, medication development, and regulatory relations. Teaching roles and government opportunities such as pharmacist, drug inspector, and assistant drug commissioner are available. Start-up options include obtaining a chemist and druggist license from the State Pharmacy Council. 

Program duration

Two years, four semesters. Syllabi are prescribed by KBCNMU Jalgaon (MS) and/or the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

Eligibility

First Year M. Pharm. — Maharashtra and All India Candidature

  • Indian National.
  • Passed B. Pharmacy from AICTE/PCI/Central or State Government approved institution with at least 55% marks (50% for Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State). 
  • Non-zero positive GPAT score by NTA. 
  • Sponsored candidates require minimum two years full-time relevant work experience in a registered firm/company/industry/educational or research institute/Government department or Government autonomous organization. 

NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries, Foreign Nationals

  • Passed B. Pharmacy from AICTE/PCI/Central or State Government approved institution with at least 55% marks.
  • Any other criterion as declared by the appropriate authority under the Act. 

Unaided Minority Institutes

As per State policy, 51% of sanctioned intake seats are for linguistic minority (Gujarathi) students from within Maharashtra, allotted on inter-se merit in CAP-I. 

Selection procedure

M. Pharm. admission for Government quota seats follows the schedule of the Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai and State CET Cell. Refer to cetcell.mahacet.org and mpharm.mahacet.org.in

  • Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions admit through CAP as per the Act.
  • Information Brochure is published by the Competent Authority. Read carefully. 
  • Fill Online Application as per schedule. Pay fees online. 
  • Upload scanned originals as required. Verify submitted data and print the signed form. 
  • Document verification at Facilitation Centre confirms application. 
  • Provisional merit list display, grievance submission, and final merit list display. 
  • Seat Matrix display by category for each CAP round.
  • Fill and confirm Online Option Form with 1–300 choices before each CAP round. Confirmed options are used for allotment. 
  • Provisional Allotment display for each round. Report and accept the seat at ARC as per schedule, then report to allotted institute. 
  • CAP timelines are mandatory. Institute/Minority admission details are notified by the institute via notice board and website; applications invited by the Principal and filled strictly on merit. Vacant seats after CAP and Institute/Minority rounds are filled at institute level on merit as per displayed schedule.
